Send Mail

Email: makani.price@myldsmail.net
Elder Price has limited time to read email each Monday. He does not have the ability to print, so feel free to keep it short and sweet. :-)

Shipping and Mailing Information:

Method 1: Write him for FREE! Use Dear Elder.com. No need to create an account, just select Ghana Cape Coast for the mission name and click on the "Write a Missionary" button. It will prompt you to enter your return mailing address and your email address, along with the name of the missionary you are writing. Then type your letter (or copy and paste it into the window) and click the "Send Letter" button. Your email will be printed and mailed to Elder Price. He will usually receive it within 1-2 weeks of when it is sent. If you wish to create an account, it's free and provides more options.

Method 2: Use "the pouch" and a regular stamp. Mail your letter to Salt Lake City and it will be taken via courier directly to the Ghana Cape Coast mission. Letters received by Friday will usually arrive the next week. The only items that may be sent through the pouch, however, are Postcards and single sheet, single sided letters, folded with a three-panel fold, taped shut.
Instructions for making a three-panel fold:
  1. Lay the blank side of the letter (single sheet) facing down with the writing facing you.
  2. Fold the top of the letter about one-third of the way down and crease.
  3. Fold the bottom of the letter to the top of the first fold and crease.
  4. Use two pieces of tape or two sticker tabs on the top to secure it, not more than one inch from each side, but do not seal the ends.
  5. Do not include any other items within the letter.
  6. In the top left corner, write your name and complete return address.
  7. Affix a stamp in the top right corner.
  8. In the middle, write the following:
               Elder Makani Rain Price
               Ghana Cape Coast Mission
               PO Box 30150
               Salt Lake City UT 84130-0150

Method 3: Letter and Packages (USPS)
(4 - 10 weeks) Regular letters (envelope and 3-4 pages of paper, under 1 oz.) need to have $1.15 in postage to send internationally to Africa.

Letters:
     Elder Makani Rain Price
     Ghana Cape Coast Mission
     PMB CC 1385
     Cape Coast, Ghana

Packages:
     Elder Makani Rain Price
     Ghana Cape Coast Mission
     75 Nkanfoa Road, Third Ridge
     Cape Coast, Ghana

The best deal for sending a package is to mail it in a Priority Flat Rate envelope (you can order free from usps.com--Priority, not Priority Express as those are more expensive). Legal and Letter sizes cost the same. Just keep the weight under 4 pounds (not an ounce more). It will cost you $24.95. Once sealed, wrap the whole package in clear packaging tape. Sending a package internationally also requires you to fill out a customs form which is also available at the post office or online. You must declare what you are sending and the value. Keep it under $5 or Rain will be required to pay a 28% customs fee when he picks it up.

You could also use the Priority Mail Flat Rate boxes. International shipping charges on those are: $24.95 for a small box, $59.95 for a medium box, and $77.95 for a large box.

List "Missionary Supplies" as the contents.

Method 4: The address for Courier Shipping (DHL etc) was slightly different when he was assigned to Liberia, but it looks as though it's the same in Cape Coast, Ghana:

     Elder Makani Rain Price
     Ghana Cape Coast Mission
     75 Nkanfoa Road, Third Ridge
     Cape Coast, Ghana

Package it well and not too tight. If you cram it in, it will likely burst out before it gets there - the journey can be rough.
